i liked it March 17, 2008 C. B. Gavel (Naugatuck CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
hello,
I loved this game I had no problem with it, but I found it to be to short it could have been longer and would have been nicer to be able to use all of the ships during the story line the story line could have been much longer
This game is great! February 14, 2009 Robert McCloud (USA) I am a Star Trek fan, and when I heard about Star Trek: Legacy, I just had to buy it. I looked at many reviews on the game, and what I saw had me concerned. But, I bought the game anyway, since I wanted to give it a try. My final opinion, this game deserves another chance!!! The controls are hard at first, but after you play it for awhile, you'll get used to it. Star Trek: Legacy has great graphics, and full weapon and damage modeling, and the overall gameplay is tons of fun. I love this game and enjoy playing it!

legacy is a great, awsome space battle game. I love the fact it shows real time damage, space and has all five captians from all 5 shows.
Not a bad game... January 3, 2007 Donavon Cawley (Morris, Minnesota) 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
...but not a good game, either. Much like the other two Star Trek titles Bethesda has released recently, this game promises a lot and delivers a mere fraction of that. The voice acting is good depending on the actor - I can only assume Avery Brooks and Patrick Stewart were more than willing to contribute to this project, while it seemed as if Scott Bakula and William Shatner were shackled to a microphone, and were not fed until they read all of their lines.
The graphics are astounding, with fully rendered nebulas and ships that look better than they did on TV an in the movies. But problems begin to arise when you realize that nebulas don't hover right next to planets, and planets aren't only three times the size of your Galaxy class starship.
However, most troubling in this game is the gameplay itself. The controls are mostly obtuse and unintuitive, and the interface has some wonderful little easter eggs, such as the ability to cloak hidden in the repair menu for some ridiculous reason. It also appears that Bethesda tried really hard to balance out the game between power, speed, hull, etc. But when you throw a Discovery class ship up against a Borg cube, guess what! You're going to die! No matter how fast or tiny you are.
I think the biggest thing that ticks me off is the lack of support and ability to customize. Without even the ability to change how the keys are mapped out, let alone write new missions and create new ships, this product is in the stone age of modding. And the support from Bethesda is ridiculous; all the problems within the game are more or less addressed in the online FAQs, but the answers are all the same: "There is no functionality for [anything that would make the game good] in Star Trek Legacy."
Overall, I have been disappointed with the Star Trek line that Bethesda has been coming out with, including this one. But, despite all of the bad things I have to say about this product, it remains a lot of fun to take on Borg Cubes and play hide and seek with Romulan Warbirds. There isn't as much strategy involved as I would like, and there will never be as much functionality as Starfleet Command or Klingon Academy, but hey - whatever. It's Star Trek.

Very fun game if you get the mods. If not the replay value sucks. I do recommend purchasing this and getting the Mods!
