| Customer Reviews: Armada's a great game.... October 8, 2009 Jesse Huongvilay (Garland, Texas USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This has got to be the best Star Trek game ever made even for its time. Even if this game is now several years old, it worked well under my Vista (Home Premium) computer (but has to be set under Windows 2000 compatibility mode and visual settings disabled; to do this, find the exe icon called "Armada", right-click on it and select Properties, then in the Compatibility tab, check the box that says "Run this Program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 2000). It is usually in your Armada root directory, usually C:\\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek - Armada.). This, in my opinion, generally combines the "flawed" Airport Tycoon 2 game with the universe of Star Trek. The ability to build starships, starbases, weapon turrets, and shipyards (to name a few) are what made Armada (and also Armada 2) a great Star Trek game. The Armada game I have bought was v1.2, so that version has a lot of bugfixes already addressed. So, if you are looking for a decent Star Trek game, look here, and also be sure to look at the Starfleet Command series and also Bridge Commander, as those are also great classic Star Trek games. An instant classic! Have fun!
